Theosophical Correspondence Courses


 

Designed to aid students in their search for truth, these correspondence courses examine the mysteries of life, the rationale of rebirth, and the laws of nature which, when understood, help unfold our spiritual potential.

FORMAT
Each course is composed of lessons with questions to be answered and returned for comments. Some questions require answers that summarise the author's explanation, others seek the student's ideas. Succeeding lessons are sent with the reply. There is no time limit - students go at their own pace.

REQUIREMENTS
New students are encouraged to begin with Theosophy 1 and progress through these guided courses. In this way they will become acquainted with Theosophic terms and concepts. Students with a background in theosophy may enrol in any of the courses.

TUITION for courses is free.

CHARGES
There is a one-off registration fee of £10. Postage for lessons, completed lessons and texts should be paid by students. Please include stamps with completed lessons. Please refer to price list for cost of books.

 

 

THEOSOPHICAL CORRESPONDENCE COURSES


THEOSOPHY 1 - 16 lessons

A nontechnical overview of theosophical teachings that give reason and perspective to today's living.

Required text: EXPANDING HORIZONS by J. A. Long




THEOSOPHY 2 - 14 lessons

Examines H P Blavatsky's views on theosophic teachings, their practical application, and the purposes of the Theosophical Society. These teachings include: the origin and composite nature of man and universe, karma, reincarnation, and the dangers of psychic dabbling.

Required text: THE KEY TO THEOSOPHY by H. P. Blavatsky




THEOSOPHY 3 - 17 lessons

Short chapters packed with information concerning the nature of spirit, soul and body, after-death states, psychic powers and cosmic and terrestrial cycles - supplemented by extended definitions from the Glossary.

Required texts: THE OCEAN OF THEOSOPHY by W. Q. Judge, OCCULT GLOSSARY by G de Purucker




THEOSOPHY 4 - 38 lessons

An in-depth study of the esoteric teachings that have influenced philosophical, religious, and scientific thought through the ages. Examines reincarnation, heredity, the astral light, symbolism the invisible worlds, evolution of the soul, and other topics regarding humanity and the universe.

Required text: THE ESOTERIC TRADITION (2 vols) by G de Purucker




THEOSOPHY 5 - 17 lessons

An examination of theosophical views regarding the biological and spiritual evolution of mankind. Of particular appeal to all who question both Darwinism and Creationism.

Required text: MAN IN EVOLUTION by G de Purucker

 


THEOSOPHY 6 - 8 lessons

Provides a helpful method for studying H.P. Blavatsky's The Secret Doctrine and introduces its devotional companion , The Voice of the Silence - a book which offers guidance to seekers on the Path.

Required text: AN INVITATION TO THE SECRET DOCTRINE




THEOSOPHY 7 - 48 lessons

Explores the universal principles presented in The Secret Doctrine and elucidates seven jewels or keys that lead to wisdom.

Required text: FUNDAMENTALS OF THE ESOTERIC PHILOSOPHY by G de Purucker




THEOSOPHY 8 - 44 lessons

A deeper study of the metaphysical and esoteric truths presented in The Secret Doctrine.

Required text: FOUNTAIN SOURCE OF OCCULTISM by G de Purucker
